i got home a little late from work this evening, and my wife was getting ready for the bookstudy.
she was quite happy and we began to discuss the days activities.
things were going great.
This whole thread has had some amazing posts on it. WOW!! I never left Bible sudy central until about 3 years after I left my very unhappy marriage, so it really does not apply to me, however, what some of you have endured or continue to endure is what I would call the real sacrifice. Bless all of you and may the blinders be lifted soon from the ones you love.

i was told about this site from family members that have all survived/overcome being jw's.
i must admit it is wonderful and so disturbing at the same time, to read all of these stories.
it's amazing what a religion/cult can do to you, first by embracing you then completely consuming you.
YAY!! Isn't it great to be free!! Don't you just feel like a brand new person? With all your own thoughts and the "free will" that you were supposed to be able to exercise. Glad to have you here. Stick around it's a hoot!! Even if you don't post a lot like me, it's still great to read the posts and get encouragement from them. It also helps to put away a few ghosts, I find!!

cost me an early retirement and years of grief with my daughter, now 18. anyone have a thought about the institute of marriage j-dud style.

IMHO
Every JDUD marriage is a sham cuz the witnesses don't know how to have a relationship, it is all based on lies and deceit. Now I am looking from the female dud point of view so please "no offense" but I have seen so many "children" get married to someone that they thought they wanted, and when things go wrong, (which of course they are gonna) look out. I have seen these things go both ways, but my bias seems to be that the witnesses generally side with the man, cuz he's usually whining and crying about how he wants to "fix" it and do things the JW way. CROCK. Anyway that is probably what went wrong in your case, since she cheated on you, you probably thought well F*** this and just backed away, so of course that left her with an opening. When the BF went to jail she had no one. Well the DUDS are beter than no one right (NOT!!)
Despite it all, thank your lucky stars you found out who your friends aren't, and run to the nearest wordly friend you have cuz they will always stand by you, no matter what!!

today i spoke with mr & mrs nightwarrior for the first time.
i can honestly say they are the most honest, genuine and wonderful couple around.
if there are any people out there who don't know who to turn to, turn to these people - they are the best.. i also spoke with 'mum' yesterday from the us.

I must say that I too had a serious distaste for the "reds". That was until I discovered a little import to Canada from OZ called Yellow Tail Shiraz. OMG you all must try it, it is so full of flavor and it doesn't give you a headache as most red wines do. YUM

no hurried underlining of the wt study so it looks like i studied, no stifling ties and lame-ass suits.
This is me since not rushing to any meetings period. I can't believe the absolute feeling of weight being lifted off my shoulders. What a riot act. Work 8 hrs.......then rush home and wolf down your dinner(if you have time to eat)then rush out for 2 hours (if brother oldtimer isn't on the schedule)of absolute foredom and utter torture. The when it's all over, pretend you care for any of the people there and share insincere comments about this or that and gossip about sister fat ass. Yeah.......it's pretty hard to miss all that!!
while reading minimuses post under "friends" about a sister who kept up auxillary pioneering even though her 5 year old daughter died, it brought to mind a similar story that happened just 2 months ago in a large cong.
an elder serving in that cong.
for many years now, lost his wife to heart complications.
Here is a puzzling thought as well, in regards to another poster who said that so many of them have mental problems because of not dealing with any traumatic events in there lives; has anyone else noticed the # of cases of fibromyalsia especially among the women?

even after a year of thought regarding religion, and inparticular the jw faith... i am still no further forward as to whether i should go for it.. i realise that practically everyone who reads this post will be anti-jw; but i appeal to your unbias/ neutral side... if thats possible.. both sides have their own point of view... both are very convincing; i am just not sure what will "clinch the deal".. all i know is that i cannot go on like this for much longer!.
